Leading Women to Love

and Lean on God

When I share with others that I am an International Christian Women’s Speaker and Author, they envision the stage or platform and an audience listening in eager anticipation.

They picture what I call my “Friday Night Lights,” or the “wedding day” per se, and not all the hours of planning that go into making the event a success.

Yes, that is ONE element of my ministry, but just ONE.

In football, we witness the team on Friday evenings under the bright lights of the field—executing plays with passion and enthusiasm; leaving it all on the field. The audiences in the bleachers are eager to cheer their favorite team on. It can be an intoxicating rush for the players and all who come to watch and support them.

However, these are just two hours on a Friday night. What we don’t see is the sweat, tears, determination, dedication, planning, prep, memorizing and sacrifice made the other six days of the week.

The same can be said about any women’s event and the speaker’s prep that goes on beforehand. As a member of the audience, one doesn’t witness the hours of prep, planning and prayer invested prior to a Christian speaker’s  “Friday night.”

A speaker for Christian women has the honor and privilege of serving churches and communities at home and abroad. To serve to excellence she has an obligation to know her audience, its culture and be in agreement (if a Faith-based event—which most of my engagements are) with their statement of Faith.

This takes investment.

So what really goes on behind the scenes in preparing to speak to a group of Christian women?

First, communication with the host church (women’s director or committee chair) or organization happens. This is vital to the success of every event, either big or small. Understanding their vision and goals is paramount to delivering a heartfelt, relatable, and often humorous (because humor relaxes women), Christ-centered message of encouragement, hope and empowerment.

Second, there is more communication!

The scope of communication broadens as the event date gets closer. A conversation with the worship leader or band brings cohesiveness to the message. If the event is open to the public, promoting through videos and social media invitations/interactions are vital to its success.

All this detail, and more, happens before I am “under the lights” delivering a powerful, Gospel message with enthusiasm, passion and in the power of the Holy Spirit!

It is an honor and privilege to be a Christian speaker for women.  When I say “Yes” to speak at a retreat, conference or outreach, I am partnering in ministry with YOU. Together, we are committed to bringing a life-changing, dynamic, fun, Biblically-based message that will resonate with the attendees for years to come.
